Loma Vista’s event spaces are terraced into the gently sloping hillside on the edge of the forest, with five distinct ascending elevations.

Our terraces are versatile and we design each layout to fit your personal taste and guest count.

The galleries below are organized by individual level and show the variety of ways each space can be used. A site map can be found at the bottom of the page.

Lower Courtyard

The Lower Courtyard is the lowest area of the gardens. With vast views of the gorgeous hills across the way, it’s a perfect spot to share a meal as the sun sets. Ceremonies can also be held in the courtyard, either under the honeysuckle covered entryway or using the pergola as the alter space. Photos below show the lower courtyard with multiple dining and ceremony set-ups.

Nest Level

Our main gates open to the Nest Level, one terrace above the Lower Courtyard. This is also where the lawn and amphitheater are. Upon entering, guests arrive onto the lawn to find the welcome table. This is a perfect spot for pre-ceremony mingling or post-ceremony cocktail hour.

The lawn is also a favorite area for dining. The “nest” can be used as a cake or desert bar, a cozy lounge area, or photo booth.

Across the lawn is the amphitheater, a multi-level zone that can be decorated with pillows, blankets, and tall votive candles to make the ultimate dreamy hangout spot. To complete the vibe, vintage furniture and a fire-pit can go in front, or the dance floor; allowing the amphitheater to be front row seating for music and dancing!

The Grazing Level

Lined with built-in counter tops hand-milled from a 500 year old redwood tree that fell on the property, the Grazing Level is a transitionary area between the Nest Level and our large Upper Terrace.

It’s a fantastic spot for placed hors-devours and a grazing station. It can also be a lounge area or standing cocktail space.

The Upper Terrace

The Upper Terrace is our largest area and popular for both ceremonies and receptions. Facing West towards the stunning valley, ceremonies look through the trees with views of the ridge-line behind.

For higher capacity events, this is a wonderful place for the meal, with the bar and bathrooms nearby on the same level.

The area comes alive at night with bistro lights hung through the forest!

The Plateau

An elevated area above the Upper Terrace, the Plateau is another well loved ceremony spot. Your guests can face west, looking into the forest and backlit by dappled light as the sun sets through the canopy, or face north, with the grand redwood tree as the focal point behind.

When there is dancing or dining on the Upper Terrace, the Plateau works wonderfully as a stage for music or speeches.

Nuptial Yurt & Mid-century Trailer

Get ready on-site, Big Sur style! Our two private prep spaces allow for each partner to have their own areas. The Nuptial Yurt is spacious and quintessential Northern California. With lots of natural light, Art Deco furniture and vanity and mirror space.

The Midcentury Trailer is rustic, woodsy, and charming, with vintage furniture and mirror space set up on the surrounding private deck, it’s a perfect place to put on your finest duds and take a breather before the ceremony!

The Lower Courtyard is the lowest area, and the Plateau is the highest. The elevation change is represented on the map by stairs connecting each level, and by gentle ramps (noted with pink arrows facing the uphill direction.) Each level is accessible by both ramp and stairs.
